Up and Up.

I was getting ready this morning listening to “Up and Up” by Relient K.

Old Song.

Relative lyrics.

Cause I’m on the up and up
I’m on the up and up
And I haven’t given up
Given up on what
I know I’m capable of
And I’m on the up and up
I’m on the up and up
Yeah there’s nothing left to prove
Cause I’m just trying to be
A better version of me
For you
A better version of me
For you

And, if you know me well, you know I’ve been grown and stretched this year, more than I would like. More than I expected. More than I hoped. (But, do we ever hope to feel like we are struggling?)

I think that’s how God intends sometimes.

He makes people like me, so reliant on him. If not, I would attempt to do it all on my own.

So, this year, He showed me again that I cannot do it on my own. I desperately need him, His direction, His grace.

And, as I listened to this song, a song I’ve listened to for the last 10 years of my life, it is even more relevant than ever.

Because, if I’m being honest, this past year feels like God gave me a challenging task, a new place in my life, and I failed. I failed. I complained. I whined. I groaned. I cried. A lot.

But, there’s this thing called grace.

Moving past what feels like failure and seeing God moving and working through my failure and imperfection.

I’m on the Up and Up.

And, on another note. Peet’s Coffee got coconut flavor in.

Absolutely in love.
